WE OFFER PRIVATE AND
OPEN RETREATS
PRIVATE RETREATS Two night minimum stay
12-27 guests. We provide up to 27 sewing stations with padded chairs, cutting table with mats and rulers, and 2 wide ironing boards with irons. There is additional room for hand sewing, knitting, crocheting, etc. in the living room, den, alcoves with recliners, and covered decks.
Cost varies from $35-50 per person per night (plus required taxes) depending on group size and length of stay. We would be happy to discuss all available options for your group.
DURING A PRIVATE RETREAT, your group has the entire Lodge property, all 6400 sq ft house on 12 private, gated acres, to yourselves! You do not share with another group!
All bed and bath linens are provided, as well as start-up paper goods. You may choose to sew, walk the wooded trails, cook in the commercial kitchen, relax in the hot tub, read a book, watch tv, build a fire in our new fire pit, or take a nap at your leisure.
We can provide a list of local caterers for your convenience. Our fully-stocked commercial kitchen is available if you prefer to prepare your own meals. We will gladly direct you to local grocery stores and restaurants if needed. If you have fewer than 12 people in your group, please consider attending an Open Retreat with your small group.
OPEN RETREATS (5 nights)
Several times each year, lodge owners Mike and Sara Wall host an open retreat. Over the past couple of years, these retreats have become very popular and book up months in advance. These retreats are perfect for individual or small groups wishing to meet other quilters and share ideas in a fun environment.
Open Retreats have up to 27 sewing stations with padded chairs, cutting station with mats and rulers, and 2 irons and wide boards. There is additional room for hand sewing, knitting, crocheting, etc. in the living room, den, alcoves with recliners, and covered decks. All bed and bath linens and paper goods are provided. Mike and Sara Wall prepare a bountiful southern-style home cooked dinner each night. All meals are served buffet style, and there is always plenty for seconds or leftovers in the middle of the night. Coffee, water, and tea are always available. We make every effort to accommodate food allergies with advance notice.
During Open Retreats, guests may choose to sew anytime day or night, walk the wooded trails, cook in the commercial kitchen, relax in the hot tub, read a book, watch tv, build a fire in our new fire pit, or take a nap at their leisure.
Quilting Games with prizes are played daily. Mini-classes are often taught by various retreat participants. Participation is completely voluntary. Participants may choose to “shop hop” one day during the retreat, visiting local quilt shops.
A favorite feature of our OPEN RETREATS is the Trash to Treasure table. Guests who wish to participate bring fabric, patterns, yarn, and other quilting/sewing/crafting items they no longer use. In exchange, they may choose to take items left by other guests. It’s great fun to watch which items “come and go” during the retreat while people trade, change their minds, and/or discover new treasures!
Our OPEN RETREATS have a very relaxed, family-like atmosphere. Everyone is welcome, regardless of skill level, and many friendships have begun during these retreats.
